HSE Policy

Agora’s core business is the profitable exploration for hydrocarbons, requiring us to obtain physical data from the areas we are exploring. To do this efficiently and effectively, it is necessary for all operations (seismic and drilling) to be undertaken without harming the personnel involved, with minimum impact on the environment and without damaging the assets used to acquire the data we set out to collect. This is achieved through the following activities:

• All key business decisions and all offshore operations we are associated with will use a risk-based assessment methodology to ensure that risks taken that effect people, the environment and assets are properly understood, and are as minimal as is practicably possible (ALARP).
• Verify that our operating partners place the necessary emphasis on issues that could lead to major incidents and accidents.
• Employ sufficient personnel with the appropriate level of experience and expertise to evaluate the exploration prospects we are part of in order to ensure that offshore operations are well planned and executed.
• Participate in prospect/well planning events organised by license operators with representation from Agora in the appropriate disciplines (GnG/Res/HSE & Well Engineering).
• Follow up incidents, contribute to identifying measures to prevent recurrence and strive to ensure lessons are learnt and best practices are shared.
• Communicate openly, internally and externally, to ensure that information is shared and our views are understood.
• Set realistic and challenging targets for our employees and the company and achieve these targets.
• Ensure that everyone who works for Agora understands that they are accountable for their actions and are responsible for taking care of their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
• Verify on a regular basis that our management system is working efficiently and make changes where appropriate.
• Provide our employees and consultants with a safe and healthy workplace with modern office equipment/communication tools to ensure our employees’ expertise is fully utilised.
